Dr. Gabriel Serrano Foundation
For Dr. Gabriel Serrano, the Dominican Republic holds a very special place in his heart. Arriving nearly forty years ago, he instantly fell in love with the country and its people—a connection that has inspired a lifetime of professional dedication and social commitment.
Driven by the belief that “I feel that I have the moral duty to help those who have not had the same luck or the same opportunities as me in life,” Dr. Serrano established the Dr. Gabriel Serrano Foundation in the Dominican Republic. This non-profit initiative is dedicated to helping those most in need, focusing on improving education for children and young people, enhancing living conditions, and promoting better health for families with fewer resources. The foundation is supported by the Dr. Gabriel Serrano Medical Clinic in Bayahibe, ensuring a direct and meaningful impact on the local community.
For over fifty years, Dr. Serrano has been a cornerstone at the Dominican Institute of Dermatology and Skin Surgery Dr. Huberto Bogaert Díaz, one of the most prestigious dermatological institutions in Latin America. Alongside Dr. Huberto Bogaert, Dr. Rafael Isa, and Dr. Víctor Pou, the current director general, he has helped advance dermatological care in the country, reaching over 2,000 patients a day and transforming the field in recent years.
Dr. Serrano’s commitment to the Dominican Republic goes beyond medicine. Recently, he has launched business initiatives and investments in the province of La Alta Gracia, aimed at creating jobs and boosting the local economy. Through both his philanthropic and entrepreneurial endeavors, Dr. Serrano demonstrates that his love for this land is not only personal but profoundly transformative for the community he cherishes.
The Dr. Gabriel Serrano Foundation is more than an organization—it is the realization of a dream, a testament to one man’s enduring dedication to making life better for those who need it most.
